The campus community is invited to a special presentation by acclaimed presidential photographer Pete Souza followed by a reception and opportunity to view a solo exhibition of his photography. Souza earned national acclaim as a photographer for Presidents Barack Obama and Ronald Reagan. He will speak on Obama: An Intimate Portrait, sharing his extraordinary perspective on the presidency during his tenure as chief official White House photographer during both terms of the Obama administration.
This event is free and open to the public, but seating is limited and REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.
Registered attendees may check in and pick up tickets beginning at 3:30pm in the lobby, doors to the theatre will open at approximately 4:20pm- you must have a ticket to enter.
Please note, event staff will be searching bags upon entry into Baker Hall.
His presentation coincides with a solo exhibition of his photography in Fairchild-Martindale Library Study Gallery, which runs through February 28. Lecture and reception are sponsored by the Friends of the Lehigh Libraries.
A pre-lecture book signing will take place in Fairchild-Martindale Library, 6th Floor south from 2:45pm to 3:45 pm Souza's book, Obama: An Intimate Portrait, will be available for purchase in the library. There is a post-lecture reception at the library from 6:45-8:15pm, registration is required.
About the Speaker:
Pete Souza is the author of six photography books, including Obama: An Intimate Portrait, which debuted at #1 on The New York Times bestseller list and stands among the best-selling photography books of all time. Since its publication, Souza has enjoyed a strong following of more than 2.1 million on Instagram. His newest book, Shade: A Tale of Two Presidents, was published in October 2018.
